Huawei Inverter Repairs Perth
Huawei’s SUN2000 range is optimiser-based, so it behaves less like a conventional string inverter and more like a system where every panel reports separately. That is useful when something fails, because the fault usually identifies itself down to the panel. It also means a Huawei callout is often about the electronics on the roof rather than the box on the wall.

Common Huawei inverter faults in Perth
Optimiser and communications faults
One optimiser dropping out takes its panel with it and shows in FusionSolar as a gap in an otherwise healthy array. Tracing it is a roof job, not a wall job, and it is far cheaper than the whole-system replacement people often assume.
Arc-fault detection trips
The SUN2000 range monitors for DC arcing and shuts down when it sees a signature it does not like. Sometimes that is a genuine loose DC connection that needed finding. Sometimes it is nuisance tripping. Either way it needs the DC side inspected.
Isolation resistance alarms
Moisture in a connector or damaged cable insulation shows as an isolation alarm and stops export. Perth’s combination of winter storms and long dry spells is hard on rooftop connectors, and this is one of the most common causes we find.
FusionSolar monitoring dropouts
A system that has stopped reporting has not necessarily stopped generating. The dongle, the home network or the account link are all far more likely culprits than the inverter itself.
What we do
Huawei still trades and is supported in Australia, so a unit inside its warranty term has a real manufacturer path and we will document the fault to support the claim. Because the range is optimiser-based, we test at panel level rather than guessing from the app, and replace individual optimisers where that is what the fault turns out to be. Where the inverter itself is beyond economic repair we quote a replacement sized to your existing array.

Questions
My FusionSolar app shows one panel producing nothing. Is the panel dead?
Usually not. On an optimiser-based system a single zero reading is more often the optimiser or its connection than the panel behind it. That distinction matters, because an optimiser is a much smaller job than a panel replacement. It needs testing at the roof to tell them apart.
What does an arc-fault alarm on a SUN2000 actually mean?
The inverter has detected an electrical signature consistent with arcing on the DC side and shut down deliberately. Arcing is a fire risk, so the shutdown is the system working correctly. It should never be repeatedly reset without someone inspecting the DC connections and cabling first.
My system stopped reporting to the app but the lights are on. What is wrong?
Almost always the monitoring path rather than the generation path. The communications dongle, your router, or the FusionSolar account link are the usual suspects. We check whether the system is still exporting before touching the inverter.
Do you need the original installer’s account to work on my Huawei system?
No. We can diagnose and repair without it, though if you still have your account details the monitoring history is genuinely useful for showing when the fault started.
