Sigenergy inverters

Sigenergy Inverter Repairs Perth

Sigenergy is a recent arrival, so the Perth fleet is young and the faults we see reflect that. Rather than worn-out hardware, most Sigenergy callouts are commissioning, configuration, firmware or communications issues on a system that has never quite worked the way it was sold. The SigenStor design stacks the inverter and battery modules together, which changes how a fault presents.

Common Sigenergy inverter faults in Perth

Faults that look like the battery but are not

Because the inverter and battery stack into one unit, a problem in the controller or the communications between modules often shows up as the battery refusing to charge. Testing which module is actually at fault comes before replacing anything.

Firmware and configuration issues

On a platform this new, a system behaving oddly is frequently running a superseded firmware or carrying a configuration that does not match how the household actually uses power.

Grid and export settings

Systems commissioned against the wrong export limit or grid profile underperform without ever reporting a fault. It looks like a hardware problem and is not.

Monitoring and connectivity dropouts

A system that has stopped reporting is usually a network or gateway issue rather than a fault in the stack.

What we do

Sigenergy is current and supported, so units in term have a manufacturer path and we will document faults to support a claim. Given the age of the fleet, our first job is usually to establish whether you have a hardware fault at all, because a meaningful share of what gets reported as a failure turns out to be commissioning or configuration. That is a much cheaper answer, and you are entitled to it before anyone quotes you for parts.

Why a new system underperforming is worth chasing

A Sigenergy install is recent enough that it should still be doing what it was sold to do, and that gives you leverage a fifteen-year-old system does not have. Under Synergy’s Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme, exports earn 10 cents per unit between 3pm and 9pm and 2 cents outside it, while buying back on the A1 residential tariff costs 32.3719 cents. A battery system configured against the wrong export limit or tariff profile quietly gives that gap away every evening. On a new install that is worth establishing early, because settings are free to change and years of lost self-consumption are not.

Questions

My SigenStor battery will not charge. Does it need replacing?

Rarely as a first answer. In a stacked system the inverter, the controller and the battery modules all talk to each other, and a communications or controller fault presents as a battery that will not take charge. The modules need testing individually before anything is replaced.

The system was installed recently and has never performed as promised. Is that a fault?

Often it is configuration rather than hardware. Export limits, grid profile and tariff settings all change what the system does without generating an error. We check the commissioning settings against what you were actually sold.

Do you work on Sigenergy if we did not buy it from you?

Yes. Most of our work is on systems installed by someone else.
